Snazzback 'Within & Without' UK Tour......hybrid jazz & bass music straight out of Bristol

Snazzback’s seven-sided dance dynamism folds together UK jazz and broken beats with dub flourishes. Their hybrid sound has captured imaginations as far and wide as Glastonbury Festival, London's legendary Ronnie Scott’s Club and beyond.

This tour sees the collective delve deeper into their love of UK dance music. They take threads from the driving dubstep sounds of DMZ and breaks inspired by the sounds of Source Direct and explore them with a joyous freedom that leans more on the likes of Miles Davis and the late Pharaoh Sanders.

Their new music explores themes of conflict, both within and without. Here's what some people have said about them.

*"Snazzback...Great! There's been so much talk about the London jazz scene but there's ALOT going on in Bristol"* - Gilles Peterson (BBC 6 Music/We Out Here)

*“An explosive sense of energy...buzzing and fizzing with fresh ideas”* - Clash Magazine

*“SNAZZBACK... love that band - a seven piece collective from Bristol. Really sick track that"* - Jamz Supernova (BBC 6 Music)

Support comes from Asher Freeman, a young saxophonist and composer who has lit up the Leeds jazz scene since he moved to the city to study music at Leeds Conservatoire. Now a graduate, he can be found spitting tenor sax fire in various bands such Fir, Oracle and Nova Sol. This latest project combines jazz, rock and rare groove influences with uptempo beats and timeless melodies to create a kaleidoscopic new fusion sound.

Further success followed when they released their debut album, Dying, in 2015, an effort that gained further comparisons to acts such as Sonic Youth and A Place to Bury Strangers. They were hailed by NME and The Guardian, which stated the band was among those heralding a "new wave of new noise."

They up their debut with a collection of remixes entitled Dead, which boasted reworkings from the likes of Mogwai's Stuart Braithwaite and Ride's Andy Bell. They returned in 2017 with their second LP, Condition. Recorded by Dominic Mitchison and mastered at Abbey Road, the album was a devastating assault of overloaded guitars, harsh textures, and sonic experimentalism.

2020 sees the band release their long awaited third record, It's Never Going To Happen And This Is Why, that features experimental artists Klein, Elvin Brandhi, French Margot and Ben Vince.
