Lighthouse Family Date Change For Album Launch Gig.

There has been a change to the release date for the Lighthouse Family album “Blue Sky In Your Head” and this has meant that we have also had to change the album launch gig. The release date is now Friday 5th July and the album launch gig will take place on Sunday 21st July. However, this new date has also meant a venue change. Church, the original location for the gig is closing at the end of May so it has been moved to Brudenell Social Club. All original orders are of course valid for the date and venue change, but if there are any customers who cannot attend on Sunday 21st July, refunds are available.

The Lighthouse Family are back with their first new music in nearly two decades. One of the most popular bands of the 1990s have announced their first album in 18 years, “Blue Sky in Your Head”, to be released on Friday 5th July.

They have also announced a November UK tour (and additional dates in February 2020), but before all that they are going to play a very special intimate live album launch gig in Leeds which we will be hosting.

The album launch gig will take place at Brudenell Social Club on Sunday 21st July (Doors 7:30pm Band on stage 8:30pm).

We have set up album and ticket bundles at £17.99 each. Each purchase gets one CD (the new album plus an extra disc of the hits remastered) and one ticket. Two copies of the CD gets two tickets. You can either call in to the shop or follow this link to order online.

CDs and tickets will be posted out on release date (Friday 5th July) and will also be available to collect from the shop. Please note, if the collect option is chosen the album and ticket bundles need to be collected between Friday 5th and Thursday 11th July. There is no collect at venue option.

The Lighthouse Family are playing much larger venues later in the year so this will be a much more intimate event for fans of the band.

David Bowie “Diamond Dogs” Red Vinyl LP out Friday 24th May. Shop sales only

Released on 24th May 1974 ‘Diamond Dogs’ gave David Bowie his third UK number one album and his first top 10 album in the US.

To celebrate the 45th anniversary there will be a special limited edition red vinyl version of Diamond Dogs on 24th May 2019, exactly 45 years since its original release.

Preceding the album by more than 3 months, Rebel Rebel peaked at number 5 on the official U.K. singles chart. The original single mix was substituted by the shorter, ‘phased’ New York Remix single version in North America, featuring a new arrangement and overdubbed vocals. The album originally peaked at number 1 in the official albums chart in the U.K. and number 5 in the Billboard album chart in the U.S..

This will only be available to ‘bricks and mortar’ retail stores and not through online stores.

Visiting your local record shop is the only way of purchasing this album and we will of course have some to sell. It will not be available to pre-order on our website.

Please contact us if you require any further details, but we are not able to reserve copies of this limited edition release.

Record Store Day. Good Friday is the final day of stock only being available in the shop

Good Friday is the last day that Record Store Day releases are only available in the shop. Any remaining stock will go online at 1 minute past midnight on Saturday.

So, if you are still interested in picking up a copy of any of the limited editions and special releases that came out last Saturday, Good Friday is your final opportunity.

We have allowed online customers to set up product alerts for the releases they are interested in and it looks very much like a lot of the remaining stock will disappear very quickly.

There are some big selling titles still available (including a few re-stocks that came in during the last few days). So please take a look through the lists below and if there is anything you want call in between 10am and 5pm (our Good Friday opening hours).

If you are an online customer, this list will give you an indication of what could potentially still be available just after midnight.

Once again we would like to thank everyone that called in to see us on Record Store Day and the other busy days that followed it.

So if you want to see how much anything is just go to our alphabetical list of Record Store Day releases. but please remember this is the list we started out with and a quite a few titles have now sold out.

Here are just some of the big selling releases that we still have in stock: The Charlatans, David Bowie, Courteeners, Van Morrison, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Elton John, Joe Strummer, Pink Floyd, Prince, Weezer, Kaiser Chiefs, U2, Pete Doherty, Madonna, Sigur Ros, The Police, Ramones plus many more.

Record Store Day rules still apply on Sunday. No reserves, no phone orders and no online sales.

Record Store Day is nearly here! Important information – please read.

I’m sure many people reading this have visited the shop for Record Store Day in previous years, but there will also be some that haven’t. So here is all the information that you need to know…

Record Store Day rules are the same every year; you cannot pre-order or reserve stock and all sales are over the counter only. On the day we can’t take phone or online orders. All stock is sold on a first come first served basis and customers cannot buy more than one copy of any individual Record Store Day release. There are no strict restrictions on the numbers of different items that can be purchased.

We will be opening at 8:30am on Saturday 13th April, one hour earlier than normal. There is usually a queue outside the shop on Record Store Day, so please be prepared to wait to be served. We would also advise having some warm clothing on if you arrive early. It can be pretty cold at that time of day!

As in previous years we will be giving the first 50 people in the queue the option of reserving a first choice item from the Record Store Day list. This will be saved for when you get to the counter where further purchases can then be made.

Once again we have made printable tick sheets available. Please either use one of these or have a list with you of the releases you would like to purchase. All Record Store Day stock is behind the ground floor counter. All you need to do is tell the staff behind the counter which releases you want and they will do the rest.

We look forward to seeing some of you on the day. Lots of stock has been ordered so hopefully most people will be able to get the releases they want.

If there is any stock left over this will be made available to purchase on our website one week later (Saturday 20th April 00:01am).

We have listed all the titles that may become available online at 1 minute past midnight on Saturday 20th April, but this of course depends on what sells in the shop during the previous week. If there’s a particular release you are interested in please enter your email address on the relevant listing page and you will receive an alert if we have any stock to sell online

Here is the list of all the Record Store Day releases we will be stocking in alphabetical order.

Please go to this page to download a printable price list/tick sheet of Record Store Day releases.

Record Store Day – Saturday 13th April 2019.

This year’s Record Store Day takes place on Saturday 13th April and we will once again be taking part.
There are over 500 releases on the list which can be viewed on the official Record Store Day website.

I’m sure you all know the Record Store Day rules by now, but here they are:
Over the counter sales only (no phone or online orders).
First come first served. There will be a queue!
No more than one copy per person of any title.
No pre-orders, no reserves ahead of the day.

We always get as much stock as we can, so even if you haven’t joined the queue before we open at 8:30am it’s certainly worth calling in later in the day to see what we still have left, but obviously the earlier you are in the more likely it will be that you will get everything you want.

Nearer the time we will make a full list available of the titles we will be stocking with prices for each individual release. However, we are not able to answer specific questions about how many we will be getting of each title as that is confidential information which we are not able to make public. If it’s something we think will sell well though we get as many as we can!

Hopefully see some of you in the shop on Saturday 13th April.

Foals album launch gig update. Please read if you have ordered with us.

We have had a fantastic response to our Foals album + O2 Academy, Leeds gig ticket bundle and it has now sold out.

This event was set up at very short notice yesterday which has meant that albums and tickets will be supplied at different times.

Albums are being dispatched this week. We are aiming to get them all in the post by Friday.

Tickets haven’t been printed yet and they will become available from 9:30am on Thursday 16th May (one week before the gig) and can be collected from the shop right up until 6pm on Thursday 23rd May (the day of the gig). All tickets must be collected from the shop. There is no postage option for tickets. The website was allowing some customers to choose the special delivery option. We are in the process of refunding all those delivery charges.

Customers will receive a reminder email when tickets are ready to be collected. The person whose name is on the order is the person who needs to collect the tickets. We will need to see proof of ID when they are picked up.

We are still processing all the Foals orders we received. If you haven’t yet received a confirmation email you will later today or at the very latest tomorrow morning.

Thanks again for a fantastic response to this very exciting album and ticket bundle.
