We are delighted to announce that Crash Records has been shortlisted for the Music Week Awards 2021 in the Independent Retailer category.
There are six record retailers on the shortlist and it is a huge honour for us to be included on that list.
We feel the nomination is a culmination of all the hard work our dedicated team has put in over the last few years to ensure that our customers don't just get a record shop they enjoy visiting, but also have the opportunity to attend some unique and memorable events.
During the last few years we have had some very well attended artist signings in the shop and some amazing album launch gigs at various venues in Leeds. None of these would have happened without the support we receive from sales and marketing teams at the record companies we deal with. We are also hugely grateful to the people who run the local venues of Leeds. Their enthusiasm and cooperation has meant that we have been able to host some of the biggest names in music in very intimate settings. It's still quite hard to comprehend that we will be putting Sir Tom Jones on at the Brudenell Social Club later this year!
Like most retailers we have found the last 16 months to be incredibly challenging, especially during those periods when we couldn't allow people into the shop. We decided early on in the pandemic that we would spend some money to make improvements to our website and this has proved to be hugely beneficial during those difficult times. We are thankful to everyone who has made an online purchase from us .
It finally seems like we are heading back towards a more normal life. Last weekend's Record Store Day Drop #1 was such a great day and this was followed by a very busy weekend of online sales. To now receive the news that we have been nominated for the Music Week Independent Retailer Award is such a wonderful surprise and has made us all very happy.
As always, we would like to thank all the customers who choose to spend their time and money with us. We wouldn't be here without you.
