Wild Billy Childish & The North Kent Folkways Revival formed through the long-term partnership between Billy Childish and The Singing Loins. Billy recorded The Singing Loins first album live in his bathroom over 30 years ago. Following on from the first 7" from Wild Billy Childish & the North Kent Folkways Revival (sometimes titled NKFWR), ‘Medway Wheelers’ via Squoodge Records, their first two albums were released on Hangman Records in 2024.
Juju Claudius takes lead vocals on these two incredible takes. With the audacious ‘House Of Rising Sun’ set to be recognised as the premier female rendition. Note: Julie (Juju to her family), is American of mixed race descent.
This record is for the jukeboxes in milk parlours throughout the land, and a cherished 45 for the record sessions around the Dansette.
