SOUTHERN-PLAYALIST-ICADILLAC-MUZIK

Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, the debut album by Outkast, was released in 1994. The album, featuring live instrumentation and elements of funk and soul, addressed coming-of-age themes and urban life in the South. A critical and commercial success, the album helped distinguished Southern hip hop as a credible scene amid East Coast and West Coast dominance at the time. Music journalists regard it as an important release in hip hop and Atlanta’s music scene. Pressed on Double Orange LP Vinyl.

AQUEMINI

With their first album, Outkast created Southern hip-hop, and with their second album, they further defined it. Then, rap groups from the South really took off, and took the sound of the South with them, far from the boundaries set by Big Boi and Dre. However, the two innovative MCs break new ground with Aquemini, their third album, not to reclaim their reign of the dirty South, but to establish their mark in the universal scheme of hip-hop. Rap music needs Aquemini for its lyrical consciousness, its musical creativity, and its accessibility. One of the album's most impressive qualities is its ability to keep it real without self-consciousness. Outkast takes an everyday situation and turns it into an amazing storytelling journey into outer space. Songs such as the seven-minute "SpottieOttieDopaliscious" that feature live instruments and poetic lyrics are Outkast at their best. Pressed on x2 'Pink Jelly Bloom' LP Vinyl.

ATLIENS

ATLiens, the second studio album by Outkast, was released in 1996. The album, featuring outer space-inspired production and a mix of dub and gospel elements, explores themes of urban life, introspection, and extraterrestrial life. ATLiens has been listed by several magazines and critics as one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time. Pressed on Double 'Emerald Forest Green LP Vinyl.

OUTKAST    BIG BOI & DRE PRESENT… OUTKAST

Big Boi and Dre Present… Outkast pulls together the story of Outkast in one place, mixing new tracks with key cuts from earlier albums and a handful of guest appearances. Released in 2001, it works as both a sharp introduction and a solid snapshot of the duo’s run at that point. It reached number 18 on the Billboard 200, underlining just how widely Outkast connected. For longtime fans and first-time listeners alike, this compilation captures the range, personality and effortless invention that made them such a vital force in hip-hop. Pressed on x2 Purple Marbled LP Vinyl.
