8.30pm Valley of Arches
Valley of Arches is the newly christened project of Wakefield guitarist Harry Rhodes. After a brief stint performing as a two-piece, he is now joined by a hand-picked selection of some of Wakefield's finest to bolster his melancholic indie pop. For fans of Frightened Rabbit, The National, The War on Drugs. Work to date is here (https://valley-of-arches.bandcamp.com/), but after a writing stint Harry and his new band will be bringing lots of fresh tracks.

Leeds’ GREEN GARDENS exist in a space between art rock and experimental pop, their eclectic catalogue going from intimate to dramatic in a heartbeat. Green Gardens new run of songs are part fables, part musings on posterity, and the rest is energy.
The group have recently shared their sprawling new single ‘Didn’t I Do Well’ (https://greengardensmusic.bandcamp.com/). The track is the third in a run of HelpMusicians funded singles from the band.
‘Didn't I Do Well’ is the descent through the centre of the earth, and out the other side, illustrated by the bands new catastrophic sound and brought to a fore in a pummeling climax orchestrated by producer Jamie Lockhart (Greenmount Studios, Mi Mye). The band are quickly gaining momentum with their previous releases ‘I Keep Eating Myself’ and ‘Home in the Books’ seeing support from BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq and Amazing Radio.
Of the single, Green Gardens share: “‘Didn’t I Do Well’ is about digging a hole through the centre of the earth, melting halfway through, and coming out the other side. The song is arranged to wedge you between all the elements. You’re being told a story but you’re also in the story. The only way out from compression can be down, but on the other side it’s sweet and it’s cool.”
Next Up Green Gardens have an EP coming in April '22, with gigs around the country to support.
About Bodys
Bodys is a gig promoter in Wakefield, run by Emily since the start of 2019. We put on shows on the first Thursday of the month in the music hall at The Establishment, as well as other one-offs at other venues around town. The gigs usually have two acts, times are always posted well in advance, and gigs finish early (10pm) when buses and trains are still running, and you can go get an early night if you want one 🙂
About the venue
This show is in the music hall of The Establishment Wakefield on Westgate, turn left when you go through the main door. The Establishment is located close to Wakefield Westgate train station. The gig will finish at 10pm, giving you plenty of time to get the last train.

Establishment disabled access: Entrance/ exit: 1 step - no ramp. Toilets: no disabled toilets, toilets upstairs. Viewing: all one level - seating available. We will make sure everyone can see if view is obstructed.
