Bodys presents: KITS + Shake Your Halo Down
Thursday 1st August
Establishment, 81-83 Westgate, Wakefield, WF1 1EP. Gig is in the music hall – enter through the main door on Bank Street then turn left

9.15pm KITS
Kit – noun – a small fur-bearing animal. KITS is the one-person techno-folk project of Jayson Turner, a Computer Scientist currently living in Glasgow via Manchester and Walney Island. KITS combines vocals, synths, and various bleepy boxes to create simple and meaningful songs ranging from the ecstatically positive to the devastatingly bleak. Fundamentally it’s like LCD Soundsystem, but you can’t dance to it.

8.30pm Shake Your Halo Down
Shake Your Halo Down play melodic emo indie pop, influenced by the likes of The Promise Ring, Superchunk, and Guided By Voices.
Initially a studio project, Chris Charlton (Protectors, Pylon) and Kerry Ramsay (Big Love, Protectors) have been writing together and recording lofi pop songs for Wakefield indie label Philophobia Music since 2015, with Chris Bonner and Paul Denny, the ex-Pylon backbone, joining in 2018 to complete the line up of this new band.
This gig will launch their first single, recorded at Greenmount Studios, and will be released on Philophobia Music.
