Description
The Armed return with ULTRAPOP, an audacious collision of pop sensibility and the extremities of metal, noise, and experimental music. Refusing to conform to genre conventions, the album is a bold attempt to strip away expectation and deliver something truly vital—an open rebellion against subcultural orthodoxy.
Described by the band as “a joyous, genderless, post-nihilist, anti-punk” statement, ULTRAPOP pushes sonic and conceptual boundaries in pursuit of heightened emotional and sensory intensity. It follows their acclaimed 2018 album Only Love and the Cyberpunk 2077 track ‘Night City Aliens’.
Produced by the band’s own Dan Greene alongside Ben Chisholm (Chelsea Wolfe), the album features contributions from Mark Lanegan, Troy Van Leeuwen (Queens of the Stone Age), Ben Koller (Converge), and more, with Kurt Ballou once again serving as executive producer.
