9.15pm Athabaska
Athabaska is an alternative folk/heartland rock collective based in London. Led by songwriter Faith Taylor, the group formed in 2018 and have been gradually building an arsenal of melodic, textured songs braiding themes on nature, loss, power and justice. For fans of Anais Mitchell, Hiss Golden Messenger, Jeff Buckley and Bonnie Raitt, Athabaska takes audiences on a journey from mourning to irreverence. The band is currently working on their first album. In the meantime, check out their one release on bandcamp here https://athabaska.bandcamp.com/releases

8.30pm Blue Tiger
Blue Tiger is the moniker of Edinburgh-based, Peruvian-born Mario Cruzado, self described fried rice and basketball enthusiast. Though this is the first time we see Cruzado venture out with solo material, he is a well-known face on the Edinburgh music scene. For many years, Cruzado fronted the sludge-rock ensemble Plastic Animals. They released a full-length album, ‘Pictures from the Blackout’, on Song By Toad Records in 2016 to critical acclaim from the likes of Gold Flake Paint, The List, Louder Than War, and more.
In this new incarnation, Cruzado brings a softer, more lucid quality to his songwriting, whilst retaining the dissonance that pervaded Plastic Animals. Careful vocal harmonies and sweet violin are offset by sparse percussion and gritty, textured guitar. For fans of Yo La Tengo, Sparklehorse, Broadcast, Perfume Genius' first record.
To date he has released a wonderful 5-track EP, Artifice, which you can listen to here https://bluetigermusic.bandcamp.com/
"Artifice is a delightfully lo-fi, melancholic pop offering... a beautiful five-track EP that will provide a much-needed sonic hug to anyone who needs it this winter" - The Skinny
