ALWAYS MOVING is an unfiltered snapshot of resilience, identity, and raw artistic evolution. Anchored
by the sonic vision of South London producer BexBlu and the poignant storytelling of Thamesmead-
raised rapper Paul Stephan, the album stands as a powerful testament to defying the odds and
pursuing liberation on your own terms.
Sonically, BexBlu constructs a sprawling canvas that bridges the gritty edge of UK Grime and heavy
808s with experimental hip-hop, Jerk, and meticulously chopped soul samples. In a nod to Paul’s
lineage, the production weaves in West African sample flips, grounding the project’s hard-hitting,
contemporary texture in rich cultural heritage. It’s an elevated, genre-defying backdrop engineered to
match every shift in energy—from head-turning anthems to reflective, deep-groove cuts.
At the heart of the album is Paul Stephan’s lived reality. With his trademark cadence and ear-catching
bar work, Paul takes a deep dive into his journey through life and music. He pulls back the curtain on
growing up in Thamesmead, grappling with harsh realities, systemic neglect, and the frustration of
navigating a music industry that profits off the trauma of deprived communities while remaining
detached from their struggles.
Yet, for all its sharp honesty, ALWAYS MOVING is defined by its triumph. It is an album about relentless
perseverance—a blueprint for overcoming adversity, securing financial freedom, and finding internal
peace amid the noise.
