8.30pm Savage Mansion
Savage Mansion is an indie rock group from Glasgow led by songwriter Craig Angus, and featuring a cast of musicians from the city that includes Andrew Macpherson (guitar), Beth Chalmers (keys), Jamie Dubber (bass) and Lewis Orr (drums),
They have just shared a second single from their forthcoming third album “Golden Mountain, Here I Come”. A song about the myriad hypocrisies of the ruling classes told through the frame of modern professional sports with clanging Britpop guitars, you can watch the live video for “Football Weather” here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FNsrffwvR8
They are solidifying their reputation as one of Scotland and the UK’s most prolific emerging guitar bands, and as a hardworking collective drawing from a diverse palette of musical and literary influences. It’s indie rock that’s both an instant feast for the senses and a rich tapestry of sounds and words to pore over and savour. Listen here https://savagemansion.bandcamp.com/

9.15pm elkyn
elkyn has announced his debut album “holy spirit social club” and shared its lead single “everything looks darker now”. Depending when you read this it will be/was released by Curation Records / Tambourine Machine Records on 18th March 2022. Listen to the singles so far at https://elkyn.bandcamp.com/album/holy-spirit-social-club
The new album sees elkyn aka Joey Donnelly put his uncensored inner dialogue on paper, bravely airing the thoughts most wouldn’t dare expose. Whether that’s hurtful messages to one’s self, vague and elusive memories or lingering lessons from childhood, it’s all here on “holy spirit social club”, unfiltered and searingly honest.
