Mild Orange - Foreplay

Impressed is proud to present Mild Orange - Dream-pop/indie rock band from Dunedin, Otago -and their debut record Foreplay on limited edition vinyl. 

Since forming in Dunedin in 2017, New Zealand’s Mild Orange have become a band belonging to the world that has built an international following on the back of songs that have unfolded like secrets shared between friends and lovers. Or as Billboard put it, 'Mild Orange have mastered making music for the nostalgic’. 

The indie rockers exploded online in 2018 after their independently released debut album, Foreplay – made on a budget of just $1000 – reached every corner of the globe on YouTube, notably with the singles Some Feeling and Mysight. 

The album, which has now accumulated over 100 million streams, was recorded in the bands practice room and flats in Dunedin while still studying at university (with the exception of track 3, Stranger recorded at Chicks Hotel). Foreplay was produced and mixed by frontman, Josh Mehrtens, in between studying and working at a golf course. Mehrtens still sits at the helm of carefully producing and crafting the band’s records alongside fellow members Josh Reid, Tom Kelk and Jack Ferguson.
