Acid Jazz presents the next instalment of the Spring Revisited series,
in collaboration with Ace Records. Continuing the theme of top
dance DJ and producer talent exploring the Spring Records
catalogue, NYC’s ’45 Queen’ Natasha Diggs takes on Millie Jackson’s
‘What Went Wrong Last Night’ over two sides.
After the series was launched in 2025, with another Millie Jackson
mix (in the form of Dimitri From Paris’ take on ‘We Got To Hit It Off),
it has continued to make waves, with a run of sell-out and chart-
topping 12” and 7” releases, before a remarkable 2LP compilation.
With deep roots in New York’s club legacy, Natasha Diggs is the
perfect figure to explore the Spring Revisited vision - the originator
meets innovator - and the original 7” B-side is a regular in her
residency DJ box. Meanwhile, the original’s late-‘70s message of
female empowerment felt like a natural fit:
'Instead of dealing with the heartbreak of waiting around for a man
who’s not ready or who’s playing games, Millie picks herself up, gets
herself looking fine, and goes out to DISCO!’ says Natasha.
She gives ‘Pt. 1’ an extended intro, reminiscent of some later-era
Diana Ross, before escalating to a dancefloor frenzy for ‘Pt. 2’.
We’ve given you both options, with Pt. 2 giving the straight-up hit
on the A-side, while the B-side is pressed with both for the full
experience.
