"The Whole Damn Plan" is the debut release from London/Leeds jazz trumpeter Olivia Cuttill and her all-star quintet. The album is the brainchild of Olivia’s love for storytelling, not only with her lyrics but her trumpet playing. A collection of thoughts, feelings and anecdotes come together to create memorable and impactful music. The sounds of jazz, blues, and all things groove fuse these stories together, and has something for every listener. Olivia's approach to composition and improvisation are one in the same, gleaming with conviction, captivation and character. And on this new release, she shows that she is now a force to be reckoned with on the trumpet within the UK jazz scene.

Originally from East London, she arrived in Leeds in 2020 to study jazz at Leeds Conservatoire and quickly immersed herself into the vibrant local jazz scene. She released music in 2022 with her fusion jazz band Mangorata (co-led with drummer and musical twin Miles Pillinger), alongside her debut solo album 'Three's A Crowd", a series of duets with some of her favourite musicians she works with in Leeds. Her influences range from Chet Baker, Miles Davis and Chick Correa to Stevie Wonder and Joni Mitchell. These inspirations have sculpted her playing, composing and overall love for music. Since the post-pandemic re-opening, she's been setting the jazz scenes in Leeds, Manchester and London alight with a variety of line-ups. Tonight, she is joined onstage by her quintet. The full line-up is:

Olivia Cuttill - trumpet/leader
Issey Chivers - vocals
Tom Harris - piano
Fergus Quill - double bass
Miles Pillinger - drums

The quintet will be joined by a series of special guests who also feature on "The Whole Damn Plan" :

Alex Fisher - baritone saxophone
Graham Cuttill - percussion/vocals
Lynne Cuttill - tenor saxophone
James Absalom - soprano saxophone
Ernie Moore - flute

Support comes from much rated Leeds jazz duo Chris Williams (double bass) and Nathan Lawson (guitar).
