This holiday season, The Pretty Reckless will unleash Taylor Momsen’s Pretty Reckless Christmas — a 6-track EP that blends bold rock with timeless holiday spirit. The project opens and closes with reimagined versions of “Where Are You Christmas?” from her breakout film How the Grinch Stole Christmas, now featuring Taylor’s matured, powerhouse vocals. From the soulful “I Wanna Be Your Christmas Tree” to the hard-hitting “Christmas Is Killing Me”, the band wraps their signature intensity and festive energy into an electrifying present for the season.
“Ever since I started my band the Pretty Reckless fans have been asking me to reimagine “Where Are You Christmas”. As a stubborn teenager I scoffed at the idea. Now as an adult revisiting the Grinch feels like coming home to a part of myself I hadn’t seen in a long time. I was just a child when I first sang it, and I never could’ve imagined the way the song, and the film, would stay with people for so long and unknowingly shape my career path as an adult. Recording it now, with all the life I’ve lived in between, I see the song through a different lens.. but the heart of it is the same.
